Four-jet production at the Large Hadron Collider at next-to-leading order in QCD.
We present the cross sections for production of up to four jets at the Large Hadron Collider, at next-to-leading order in the QCD coupling. We use the BLACKHAT library in conjunction with SHERPA and a recently developed algorithm for assembling primitive amplitudes into color-dressed amplitudes. We adopt the cuts used by ATLAS in their study of multijet events in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV. We i...
متن کاملTwo-loop effective potential for the minimal supersymmetric standard model
I compute the complete two-loop effective potential for the minimal supersymmetric standard model in the Landau gauge. This enables an accurate determination of the minimization conditions for the vacuum expectation values of the Higgs fields. Checks on the result follow from supersymmetric limits and from renormalization-scale invariance. The renormalization group equations for the field-indep...
متن کاملQuark mass relations to four-loop order in perturbative QCD.
We present results for the relation between a heavy quark mass defined in the on-shell and minimal subtraction (MS[over ¯]) scheme to four-loop order. The method to compute the four-loop on-shell integral is briefly described and the new results are used to establish relations between various short-distance masses and the MS[over ¯] quark mass to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order accuracy. ...
متن کاملEffective potential and first-order phase transitions: Beyond leading order.
Scenarios for electroweak baryogenesis require an understanding of the effective potential at finite temperature near a first-order electroweak phase transition. Working in Landau gauge, we present a calculation of the dominant two-loop corrections to the ring-improved one-loop potential in the formal limit g 4 ≪ λ ≪ g 2 , where λ is the Higgs self-coupling and g is the electroweak coupling. Th...
متن کاملThe Infrared Behavior of One-Loop QCD Amplitudes at Next-to-Next-to-Leading Order
We present universal factorization formulas describing the behavior of one-loop QCD amplitudes as external momenta become either soft or collinear. Our results are valid to all orders in the dimensional regularization parameter, ǫ. Terms through O(ǫ2) can contribute in infrared divergent phase space integrals associated with next-to-next-to-leading order jet cross-sections.
